LONDON -- Madonna says she's three months pregnant with her second child. Boyfriend Guy Ritchie, a British film director, is the father.

"We would be grateful if the media would kindly allow us some privacy at this special time," Ritchie, 31, said Monday. "We thank you all for your good wishes."

Madonna, 41, has a 3-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from her relationship with former personal trainer Carlos Leon. She and Leon never married, but she's not ruling out a trip down the aisle with Ritchie.

Williams to perform 'South Park' song at Oscars

BEVERLY HILLS, California -- Robin Williams is planning to belt out the obscenity-laced song from "South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut" at the Oscars Sunday. Just how it's going to be presented remains a mystery.

ABC censors have told composer Marc Shaiman and "South Park" co-creator Trey Parker to clean up the language in "Blame Canada" if they want it performed with other nominees for best original song.

Note: Williams wasn't the first choice as performer. Singer Anne Murray, called "that bitch" in the song, was offered the gig first. She declined (Parker says she's OK with the line.).

Other best-song performers include Phil Collins with "You'll Be in My Heart" from "Tarzan," Aimee Mann doing "Save Me" from "Magnolia," Randy Newman and Sarah McLachlan performing "When She Loved Me" from "Toy Story 2" and 'N Sync teaming up with Gloria Estefan for "Music of My Heart" from the movie of the same name.

LOS ANGELES -- The hair and makeup artists who give celebrities those to-die-for looks finally got their due this award season. The first Hair and Makeup Stylist Guild Awards took place Sunday, honoring the best in television and film.

"The Thomas Crown Affair" won best contemporary hair styling in a feature film. "The General's Daughter" earned kudos for best contemporary makeup. Most innovative hair? That went to "Star Trek Voyager."

"And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story" won for best period hair and makeup for a miniseries. The movie starring Cher, "Tea with Mussolini," earned best period hair and makeup.

A lifetime achievement award went to veteran artist Monty Westmore, whose 100 feature-film credits include "The Towering Inferno" (1974), "Hook" (1991) and "Jurassic Park" (1993).

Dr. Laura cancels birthday bash

Schlessinger

DEARBORN, Michigan -- "Dr. Laura" Schlessinger canceled her Michigan birthday bash and fund raiser to avoid a clash with gay rights activists, who were planning to protest the April 15 event.

Schlessinger, who's used her radio talk show to call homosexuality a "biological error" and "deviant," says in a statement she canceled "so as not to compromise anyone's physical safety or subject anyone to embarrassment or discomfort."

"We're thrilled that she's not bringing her anti-gay rhetoric to Detroit," says Sean Kosofsky of the gay-rights group the Triangle Foundation.

About 800 tickets at $76 apiece had been sold. Proceeds were to go to a charitable foundation and Detroit's Children's Center.
