Clintons help Lionel Hampton celebrate 90th birthdayWASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton hosted a party at the White House Thursday night celebrating jazz legend Lionel Hampton's 90th birthday. At Hampton's request, Clinton grabbed a saxophone and serenaded the audience with a rendition of "My Funny Valentine." Hampton is one of the last remaining early giants of jazz. He performed with Louis Armstrong and the Benny Goodman Quartet, which in the 1930s became the first racially integrated jazz band in the nation. Last year, Hampton received the Presidential Medal of Arts for his contributions to the development of jazz.

The maximum sentence would have been two years in jail and a five-year driving ban. "Gerard Depardieu fully accepts the sentence and he is conscious of the fact that drunk-driving is dangerous and forbidden," his lawyer told French radio.
IRS going after Roy Rogers estateLOS ANGELES (CNN) -- The Internal Revenue Service is demanding more than $700,000 from the estate of Roy Rogers and his widow Dale Evans, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday. Details of the dispute between Rogers and the IRS were outlined in U.S. Tax Court in Virginia a week before Rogers' death of congestive heart failure at his home in Apple Valley. Rogers was 86. The IRS contends the couple undervalued limited partnerships they gave their children. According to court records published in the Times, the couple's lawyers appealed an IRS demand for the additional taxes, arguing the agency had made a mistake in asking for extra taxes on real estate gifts they made to their children.
Faith Hill shows off her pride and joyHASTINGS, Nebraska (CNN) -- Faith Hill is getting her 18-month old daughter accustomed to life on the stage at an early age. Hill brought Gracie out on stage during band introductions at a recent gig, drawing oohs and aahs from the crowd. And Hill is expecting another child soon. "Thanks for being so sweet to welcome an eight and a half -- ooh -- almost nine-month pregnant woman," Hill told 4,000 fans gathered Wednesday. Hill went on to play some of her biggest hits, including "The Hard Way," "Take Me as I Am," "It Matters to Me" and "This Kiss."
Judge rules against former Willis-Moore nannyLOS ANGELES (CNN) -- A former nanny of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore has again been refused the chance to pursue her lawsuit against the celebrities in California court. Judge Irving Feffer said Thursday he would not overrule two earlier rulings that the case be heard in Idaho, where Moore and Willis maintain a residence. Kim Tannahill filed a lawsuit February 2 in California, alleging she was denied overtime pay, physically threatened and verbally abused while serving as caretaker to the couple's three children. Willis and Moore, who recently separated, countered by filing a suit in Idaho, claiming Tannahill stole money, defamed the couple and breached a confidentiality agreement. Reuters contributed to this report.
