Reno leaves the hospital

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Attorney General Janet Reno left the hospital on Monday, following an overnight stay after she fainted in church on Sunday.

"I'm feeling really good now," she told reporters as she left Georgetown University Medical Center, where she had spent the night in a coronary care unit as a precaution.

Dr. Paul Katz had said on Sunday that Reno's condition was "by no means" life threatening. He said Reno was kept in the coronary care unit "because it allows us to keep an eye on her and have her connected to an electrocardiogram. It's not because she's doing anything other than very well."

Reno read work materials and spoke to family members Sunday afternoon. Her spokesman, Bert Brandenburg, said she was disappointed that her hospital room lacked cable television, which prevented her from watching games on the last day of the baseball season.

Reno, 60, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, was attending a service at the Full Gospel AME Church in Clinton, Maryland, when she began to feel nauseous and fainted briefly. Dr. Rodney Ellis, a physician at the Georgetown Medical Center who is a member of the congregation, examined Reno and advised that she be taken to the hospital. An ambulance transported her there.

Reno experienced a similar fainting spell in Mexico City last November, which was attributed to exhaustion and dehydration.

Katz said it was too early to tell if there was any connection between the fainting spell and Reno's Parkinson's disease.
